An enormous geological fault-line, the Great Rift Valley divides Kenya neatly down the length of the country, separating east from west. Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru are 2 of the many lakes that have formed in the region. Along the lengths of the Rift Valley are volcanoes, most now dormant. Lake Nakuru has become a national park and supports a wide ecological diversity. It is home to large protected flocks of lesser flamingoes, which turn the lake a vivid pink. It is also famous for it pelicans, black and white rhino, colobus monkeys, as well as, numerous antelopes, buffalo and giraffe. Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake and is an important lifeline in the area. Its close proximity to Nairobi has made it an ideal weekend retreat. It is a mecca for bird lovers and researchers.

DAY 1: Nairobi - Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park

Picked from your Nairobi city hotel and your 2 days safari begins with a drive north to Lake Nakuru National park, enter the park through Lanet gate and proceed with game viewing en-route to Sarova Lion Hill for lunch. Afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru is known as a Ramsar bird site specifically founded for the protection of the black and white rhino. It is also a home for more than 450 species of birds including the lesser and greater flamingos, pelicans, African fish eagles and many others. Dinner and overnight at Lodge / Tented Camp.

DAY 2: Lake Nakuru - Drive to Lake Naivasha

Early morning safari game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park followed by breakfast. Thereafter drive to Lake Naivasha Country Club for lunch. Optional afternoon boat ride on Lake Naivasha at an extra cost – freshwater lake with a picturesque view of Mount Longonot, hippos, over 400 species of birds on the island including pelicans, African fish eagles, African darter, cormorants and the lesser flamingos which are migratory. Alternative visit crescent Island via Boat ride for a nature walk where you reach Wildebeest, Zebra and Giraffes from close range. Dinner and overnight at Lodge / Tented Camp.

DAY 3: Lake Naivasha - Hells Gate National Park - Drive to Nairobi

Enjoy a delicious breakfast you have an option of driving back to Nairobi or visiting Hells Gate National Park. We drive the short distance to the entrance of Hell’s Gate National Park. Soon after you enter the park the impressive landscape unfolds before you, and you are transported to a dramatic, semi-arid world, with sheer rugged cliffs, open plains and deep concealed gorges. There are many activities you can do within Hell’s Gate including, walking, cycling, rock climbing, bird watching and trekking through the gorge among the geysers – the choice is yours. Picnic lunch in the park. Late afternoon we depart by road driving through the Great Rift Valley to Nairobi.
