Safari Itinerary Summary.

DAY 1. Arrive in Lusaka – Transfer to Chiawa Camp. (Lower Zambezi)

On arrival at Lusaka Airport, you will be met by our representative who will transfer you by road to Chiawa Camp in the Lower Zambezi valley, a drive of about 5 hrs. You will stay here for 3 nights, where you will enjoy an unforgettable Zambian safari experience. Depending on your arrival time, after check-in enjoy lunch and later in the afternoon a complimentary sunset boat cruise, followed by dinner.

Day 2. Overnight Canoe Safari – Lower Zambezi National Park

Breakfast is at 07h30, followed by meeting your canoeing guide who will give you a brief run-down of the canoeing trip, dangerous animals, safety measures while on the river and at the campsite and canoeing techniques. Departure is from the jetty then you set off down the river. A stop is made for tea, which is set up by the backup boat. Later on stop for lunch, which is also set up by the backup boat. Then you continue down river after lunch. The backup boat goes on ahead to set up the campsite. In the late afternoon, we arrive Buffalo Beans campsite, situated on an island. Tents, bedrolls, wash-up facilities, a drop toilet and a bucket shower facility will all be set up when you get there. Dinner, fresh drinking water and juice are always provided.

Day 3. Full Day Game Drive In Lower Zambezi National Park

Today you have a mini breakfast early with tea/coffee and snacks. Then the motor boat will come from the lodge with a picnic (packed) to pick you up for your early morning cruise to the Chongwe Confluence, where you will find the 4×4 open sided safari vehicle. Here you will pay for park entry fees and your guide will give you a briefing. Set off on a game drive and enjoy this wonderful park with game viewing before stopping for breakfast. Continue with your game viewing until around 1 pm when you have lunch in the bush. Relax a bit before continuing until around 3 pm when you will return to the Chongwe Confluence. Here you board the boat for a 1.5 hrs boat cruise back to the lodge, arriving just before dark. Freshen up and relax before dinner time enjoying the amazing river view with open sky and stars. After dinner, you are free to enjoy some cold drinks from the bar or hot drinks before bedtime.

Day 4. Transfer from Chiawa Camp – Lusaka (Airport)

After breakfast check out of the lodge and, depending on your flight time out of Lusaka or onward arrangements, our driver will take you on a 3.5 hours road transfer back to Lusaka International Airport.
